Woodham Mortimer Golf Range was the first driving range in Essex, established in 1967 by a local golf enthusiast who built the range for the use of his friends.

Ian Moss took over ownership 30 years ago and the range has been substantially modernised and upgraded, maintaining the same friendly, relaxed atmosphere.   Steve Parkin has been the Pro Golfer at Woodham Mortimer Golf Range for 20 years and the partnership has been very successful.

The range has 15 covered bays, 8 outside bays, all floodlit. Two piece range balls are used and clubs for both adults and children are available for hire.

The 9 hole pitch n putt course has mature tree lined fairways and is not only an ideal facility for family and beginners, but also provides a testing challenge for established golfers who wish to improve and practice their short game. Children under the age of 8 accompanied by an adult have free use of the pitch n putt.

Practice facilities at the range include a steep sided sand filled bunker together with an all weather putting green. All targets are measured in yards to allow golfers to accurately judge their distances.

We have a resident golf professional - Steve Parkin who has been with us since the early nineties,  is a fully qualified coach.

He is available for group or individual lessons for children and adults. Free coaching for children is available every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and adults 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursdays.

The range incorporates a retail shop where our professional will be only too pleased to advise on clubs, equipment and clothing. We provide a club fitting service, enabling equipment to be tailored to individual needs. Go to the Pro Shop

All club repairs and re-gripping is carried out in our fully equipped workshop. In addition there is a hard tennis court available for hire and our staff are always happy to serve tea, coffee and snacks.
